iUndelete
iUndelete is a data recovery software that can recover deleted and lost files from NTFS disk partitions. NTFS is the file system used by most computers running Windows NT, 2000 and XP, and all computers running Windows Vista. iUndelete cannot recover files from FAT or FAT32 partitions.
iUndelete is easy to use with a Wizard style of operation. First, you must specify how the files were lost. iUndelete can recover deleted files. It can also recover files lost through formatting the drive, and files that were on lost or deleted partitions.
Next, you must specify the drive containing the lost data, and provide a location to which recovered files will be saved. Then you can start the disk scan. In undelete mode, scanning is quite fast. On completion iUndelete tells you how many files were found and gives you an estimate of the chances of successful recovery.
Finally, iUndelete presents you with a list of folders containing recovered files. You can expand the folder tree, as in Windows Explorer, to select the files you wish to save. If you want a simple file recovery tool with no frills, iUndelete is hard to beat.
