Data Rescue PC

Data Rescue PC is data recovery software that runs from a bootable CD. It can recover deleted files from hard drives and many other kinds of media. It can restore lost files even when the computer will not boot up. Data Rescue PC often succeeds where other data recovery tools fail.

Data Rescue PC runs from a bootable CD so you don't need to install it on your computer - running the risk of overwriting the data you want to recover - before you can use it. You can even use it to recover data from a disk that Windows can't read at all. After downloading the product, you'll be asked to burn the boot disk that you'll use to perform data recovery. If you don't want to - or can't - burn your own CD then you can order a CD to be sent to you for a small extra cost.

Ensure that your computer is set up to boot from CD, then put the Data Rescue disc into the drive and start your computer. The software user interface is very easy to follow. Select the source drive (the one where your lost files were located), the destination drive (where the restored files will be saved) and the start recovery. When it has finished scanning, Data Rescue PC shows you a folder tree of the hard drive, listing the files it finds. Just select the files you wish to recover, and start recovery!

Data Rescue PC can recover files from disks that have been reformatted and partitions that have been accidentally deleted. If your computer won't start, you can use Data Rescue PC to recover your files before reformatting the drive and reinstalling Windows.
